“Set against the soaring beauty of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Julie Maloney’s THE HORSE WITH A BLUE EYE is an evocative and emotionally-charged novel capturing the fragile intersection of art, identity, and ambition with breathtaking precision. When gifted stained-glass restorer Gitta Schwimmer is offered the opportunity of a lifetime, her dreams are complicated by a deeply personal betrayal—her own mother’s unexpected interference. What unfolds is a captivating tale of secrecy, sacrifice, and the high cost of creative ambition, intensified by a tragic accident that shatters more than glass. With elegance and heart, Maloney explores the tension between legacy and self-determination, darkness and light, brokenness and restoration – revealing how love, loss, and the pursuit of beauty can both fracture and bind us. A radiant, unforgettable story that lingers long after the final page.”

THE HORSE WITH A BLUE EYE is as rich, illuminating, and graceful as the stained glass found in its pages. This novel is not only a revelation of an artist in disguise, it’s also a deft portrait of a woman determined to atone for the past. With a keen eye and a generous heart, Julie Maloney proves that nothing is more consequential than the love a mother has for her children.”
